Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms® is a dynamic movement practice that opens the mind/body connection to experience transformation at its highest level. Using the wisdom of the body each Rhythm is a doorway that connects us to our natural elements of self. Moving through the 5Rhythms we complete a journey called a Wave using the 5 Rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. In flowing we connect to our inner fluidity in exploring self as we are in the moment, opening the door to Staccato we dive into the beat and give expression to our discovery. Chaos provides us the element of releasing all that no longer serves us, allowing for recognition of the deepest part of yourself in Lyrical and lightness and ultimately coming into harmony with our full mind, body, soul connection in Stillness, slowing down and following each breath. Each Rhythm offers a wealth of information and unearthing of self-let the music guide you to new terrain.
Have you ever asked yourself “who am I” and “what do I want in this life”? 5Rhythms can provided you with the Maps to discover all that you are and can Be-moment by moment, from one breath to the next we shift, grow and transform. Learning to tune-in and listen carefully within we can attune to our full potential and offering, grounding in acceptance, non-judgement and compassion while connecting to self and the world around us.
Welcome, we were all beginners and each dance is a new beginning!
Dancing the 5Rhythms is a practice where we give ourselves the gift of showing up week after week, trusting in our internal self to guide our way. Letting go of judgement, bringing in compassion and moment to moment experience. No dance steps are needed, our body knows the way and no dance will ever be the same. Not only do we work out our body in a way that no gym membership can compare, our psyche and self is healed with each dance.
Each Dance is a New Beginning.....A Kaleidoscope reflecting each memory cell......a Release and Welcoming of all that is....
We often begin with a gently guided warm-up allowing us to land and connect with the body. This is a time to stretch, move, connect, let go and follow what you need to arrive. Once stepping on the dance floor we let verbal words go and use embodied expression as our catalyst for communication. The teacher will follow the group energy and offer a teaching that will be unique to each group and every experience will be different and dynamic based on the group present.
